Frameshot privacy policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Frameshot runs entirely in your browser and collects nothing. Screenshots are made on your device and stay on your device. No account, no analytics, nothing is uploaded.

What the extension does

Frameshot is a free Chrome extension for one-click browser screenshots. It captures the tab you choose, stamps the image with the page URL, a timestamp and the viewport size, and lets you annotate it. Everything is created on your device.

Data we collect

None. Frameshot does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no sign-up and no analytics inside the extension. Nothing is uploaded to NUVIX or to any third party.

What the extension accesses locally

When you trigger a capture, Frameshot accesses the visible content of the tab you have chosen, at that moment, in order to produce the screenshot. It also reads the page URL and the viewport size so it can stamp the image. It only does this when you ask it to capture.

Where data is stored

The finished image is handed straight to you, by download or to the clipboard. The extension keeps no server-side copy. Where the image goes after that is up to you.

Permissions and why each is needed

The definitive permission list is shown by Chrome on the extension's install screen.

Third parties

None. Frameshot does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect or transmit any data in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
